We were looking for training for new managers who had been recently promoted, and with a view to having an ongoing, consistent program for new managers as and when they were promoted. Having previously worked with John on a management training program with a previous employer, I knew that John could deliver the training in leadership, management, prioritising, planning, coaching, team working, interviewing and dealing with conflict and difficult issues that we were looking for.
The delivery, structure and content of the material/messages has made it possible for us to continually reinforce the training program internally so the subjects discussed are not lost; this has meant that the training has a long-term value to us, rather than it being a course you “go on” and then forget about when back at work.
As a result, these new managers have grown in confidence when dealing with personnel issues and have settled into their new roles by fully understanding what it means to manage a team. For the most part, the manager peer-group is working well together and they are continuing to use the material and their shared experiences to help them deal with their day-to-day challenges.
